Slam Kitchen is a jazz/funk/hip hop group based out of the Lowell area. They are a group dedicated to pushing the boundaries of music through the mixing of different styles of music. They perform around the Lowell and Boston areas regularly at a number of different venues. The members include Ben Aiken on organ and keyboards, Jeremy Moisson on bass guitar, Joey Hartigan on Drum Set and rapper Kevin Bates (stage name D-Blaze) providing the rhymes and vocals. The band incorporates other local musicians and are regularly joined by various vocalists and horn players from the area. They are a very versatile group and enjoy bringing new music to new audiences featuring a variety ranging from sweet piano jazz, hard hitting funk, jazz infused hip hop and even the occasional Nirvana cover! They can be seen every Wednesday night hosting a jazz jam at The Last Safe and Deposit Company bar and venue in Lowell, MA. If you like music and like to have fun then Slam Kitchen is the band for you, bringing a fresh sound to local jazz, funk and hip hop.
Harry Jay & The Bling are a contemporary R&B/ Funk ensemble based in Boston, MA. Originally hailing from the DC area, the band formed during the member's first semester at the prestigious Berklee College of Music. Their high energy live shows and formidable musicianship has won over audiences from New England to the mid-Atlantic. Their debut EP "Truth" reached #1 on the Neo-Soul Bandcamp chart and #3 on the R&B/Soul chart. The record was released to wide critical acclaim, and the single "The Way It Goes Down" has been featured heavily on college radio stations up and down the east coast.
Their live performance has been described as explosive,exciting and memorable They have experienced great live success,completing a headlining tour of the Northeast in the summer of 2016, selling out multiple shows in VA,DC and Boston and just finished a successful two and a half week run as part of the"Roots Rhythm & Soul Tour" Along with National touring artists Roosevelt Dime (NYC) and Jenna Lotti (Boston). the tour made stops in Maine,Boston,NYC,CT,Philly,DC,Richmond,Lancaster, and Northern Va.
The band also had the opportunity to perform as part of the R.A.W Music Showcase at the Historic Howard Theater in Washington DC this past May and will be heading to Nashville for a second set for R.A.W this Dec.
Earlier this year( Feb) they released a brand new single “Brother Be Wise” on the Boston based label Green Line Records and are gearing up to begin recording a new album later this year to be released early 2018.
